Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Myelix Labs Limited (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use Synapse MCP, the Synapse website at synapse-mcp.dev, and related account or billing services (the “Services”).

Local-first by design. The Synapse MCP server indexes and queries your codebase on your own machine. Source code, AST graphs, and repository contents are not uploaded to Myelix Labs Limited as part of normal local indexing or search.

1. Who we are

The Services are operated by Myelix Labs Limited. For privacy questions, contact us at [email protected].

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect:

  • Account information — email address, password (stored as a secure hash), and account preferences when you register or manage settings. If you choose Sign in with Google, we receive your Google account email and basic identity solely to create or authenticate your Synapse account. We do not access Gmail, Drive, Contacts, or other Google services.
  • Billing information — subscription status, plan tier, and payment-related metadata for Synapse Pro. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
  • Device / license activation — device activation codes and license tokens needed to authenticate the local MCP client against your account.
  • Product analytics — website and product usage events via PostHog (for example page views and identified account events). When you are signed in, analytics may be associated with your account id and email.
  • Aggregated MCP usage telemetry — optional/product metrics such as tool call counts, language/kind counts, repository and chunk counts, session counts, uptime, install source, activation milestones, token-savings summaries, and upgrade-threshold signals. This telemetry is size-capped and does not include your source code or file contents.
  • Technical logs — IP address, browser type, timestamps, and similar server logs needed for security, abuse prevention, and reliability.
  • Communications — messages you send us (support, sales, or feedback).

3. What we do not collect from local indexing

Synapse MCP is designed so that codebase indexing, graph storage, embeddings, and query responses run locally. We do not receive your repository source files through the local index or search tools. If you choose to send us code snippets in a support email or similar channel, that content is treated as a communication you voluntarily provided.

4. How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • Provide, secure, and improve the Services
  • Create and authenticate accounts, and activate licenses
  • Process subscriptions and send billing-related notices
  • Measure product usage and diagnose reliability issues
  • Communicate about updates, security notices, and (where permitted) product news
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use session cookies and similar technologies required for authentication, CSRF protection, and site functionality. Analytics tools may also set cookies or local storage keys to measure usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may limit account features.

6. How we share information

We may share information with:

  • Service providers such as Stripe (payments), PostHog (analytics), hosting, email delivery, and infrastructure vendors who process data on our behalf.
  • Legal / safety — when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Myelix Labs Limited, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

We do not sell your personal information.

7. Data retention

We retain account and billing records for as long as your account is active and as needed for legitimate business, tax, and legal purposes. Analytics and telemetry are retained according to our provider configurations and operational needs. You may request deletion of your account data as described below.

8. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data we process, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls around licensing secrets. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; please use a strong unique password and protect your license credentials.

9. International transfers

We and our processors may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms provided by our vendors.

10. Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • Access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Export account information in a portable format
  • Opt out of non-essential marketing emails

To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling the request.

11. Children’s privacy

The Services are intended for adults and professional developers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes may also be communicated through the website or by email.
